A Father and Son Duo
Keith and Ben Simmons have been performing together as a double act since 2004 to great acclaim. As well as excellent comedy they are also able to present a great music spot. Keith plays guitar with Ben on keyboards and they both handle the vocals expertly!
The Comedy...
A son (Ben) who spends his time trying to keep his father (Keith) under control whilst really wanting to work on his own anyway! This is the premise of their relationship on stage. Ben tries to perform various types of entertainment (a pot pourri) and Keith always manages to get involved.
The Music ...
Back in the sixties Keith wrote hundreds of songs, many with his wife (and Ben's mother) Fran. Over the last few years Ben has dusted them off - the songs - not his parents! - and given a lot of them a new feel - changing lyrics here and there. (Writing credits now go to Simmons, Simmons and Simmons!) As well as these unpublished goodies Keith and Ben also feature a lot of known material by The Beatles, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers and some more contemporary items as well. They play as a two handed outfit (Ben on keyboards and Keith on guitar).
